Why do you ask me for £2?
We suggest a donation of £2 if you're an adult because £1 doesn’t go as far as it used to.
£2 is about the price of a cappuccino from a coffee bar, a lunchtime sandwich or a magazine. Doing without just one of these would leave £2 in your pocket to give to Jeans for Genes.
Your donations allow us to continue to fund research into life-changing and life saving treatments, and services which make a huge difference to families’ daily lives. So don’t let us stop you if you want to donate more!

I can’t do Jeans for Genes Day on that day, can I do it another day?
Jeans for Genes Day is always the first Friday in October. We know that date isn’t always convenient for you so you can hold your Jeans for Genes Day whenever you like.
Lots of materials are available for you to download from the website to let everyone know what you’re doing and when.

How do I get more materials like posters, stickers and collection boxes?
You can download posters and stickers from our website. If you’re using buckets to collect donations in you can also print off labels for them.
Pyramid collection boxes can be ordered from us on freephone 0800 980 4800 or why not make your own?! You could use a baby pair of jeans with the bottoms sewn up or make it a design challenge for the kids at school or the staff in the office.

I’ve lost my paying–in slip, what do I do?
We send you a paying-in slip so that we know who the donation has come from – and who to say thank you to!
If yours has gone missing, call our freephone number 0800 980 4800 and ask them to send you a new one. If you’ve got your supporter number handy, that will be really helpful.

Can I pay money for Fifi zip pulls in with money from Jeans for Genes Day?
It’s fantastic that you’ve decided to organise a Jeans for Genes Day AND sell Fifi zip-pulls. You’ve got a paying-in slip for each and we’d really like you to pay the monies in separately. It helps us to see where the money’s come from.

How will I know if you’ve received my money?
We’ll send you a thank you certificate once we’ve received your donation. It will show how much you’ve raised so everyone in your office, shop or school can see how well you’ve all done.

Will I automatically get a fundraising pack next year?
You put a great deal of effort into raising money for Jeans for Genes, so we try to spend it wisely. We don’t want our fundraising packs to be wasted which is why we’re asking you to register for a pack each year. If you can keep a note of your supporter number, that will help us to recognise you are straight away.

Why should I ask my colleagues to add Gift Aid to their donation?
Gift Aid is tax relief that’s donated to charities. For every pound you give us, the government will give us an extra 28p. If everyone who takes part in Jeans for Genes Day ticked the Gift Aid box, it would significantly increase the amount of money we raise each year. Click here for more information about Gift Aid.

Can I split the proceeds of the Day and share them with another charity?
We spend a lot of time, effort and money producing fundraising packs for you to use. But some people see ‘doing a Jeans for Genes Day’ as a dress down day which can benefit any charity of their choice.
Jeans for Genes is a registered trade mark and it can’t be used to fundraise for another charity. We know many of you want to support other charities but please have an alternative day of fun for them.
